On a small plantation in the Bener Meriah district, this coffee is cultivated near Lake Laut Tawar by farmers with plots under 2 hectares. Grown at elevations of 1100-1500 meters in the Bukit Barisan Mountains, these Gayo beans are harvested from September to December. The coffee from this Sumatran region is known for its complex flavor profile, marked by fresh, fruity, and herbal notes. The Bener Meriah plantation is one of the few managed by the exporting company CV Mal Agri, established in 2014. Their goal is to foster the consistent growth of specialty coffee beans sustainably while aiding and supporting local small-scale farmers."
